As we scale our go-to-market motion, we’re hiring our first Business Development Representative. As a foundational team member this person will play a critical role in shaping how we engage with customers and bring our AI-powered solutions to market.
About the Role
As our Founding BDR, you’ll be more than just a pipeline generator. You’ll shape how we engage with potential customers, experiment with outbound strategy, and influence how we scale sales long-term. You’ll work closely with founders, sales leadership, and product to identify high-value opportunities, tell our story effectively, and help convert curiosity into conversation.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves building from scratch, and wants a front-row seat to startup growth.
What You’ll Do
- Outbound Strategy & Execution: Research, identify, and reach out to ideal customers across channels (email, phone, LinkedIn, etc.). Own outreach end-to-end.
- Pipeline Building: Consistently generate and qualify top-of-funnel leads for Account Executives or Founders.
- Customer Discovery: Engage with prospects to understand their pain points and match them to our value prop.
- CRM Discipline: Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in our CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.).
- Sales Experimentation: Test and iterate messaging, cadences, and target personas. Share insights to improve effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with sales leadership on market feedback, product on prospect pain points, and leadership on GTM planning.
- Founding DNA: Contribute ideas beyond your lane, help build sales culture, and wear multiple hats as needed.
You Might Be a Fit If You...
- Have 1–2 years of experience in wealth management, a BDR/SDR or outbound sales role in WealthTech, or experience in a Financial Services environment.
- Are excited by the idea of being the first sales hire and helping to shape the foundation of the sales team.
- Are a natural communicator, persuasive, clear, and confident across written and verbal channels.
- Are curious and coachable. You seek feedback and always want to get better.
- Are data-driven and metrics-oriented, but also creative and experimental.
- Thrive in ambiguity and love solving messy problems with smart, scrappy solutions.
- Are energized by fast-paced environments and want to grow quickly in responsibility and scope.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in wealth management or WealthTech companies
Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Outreach, Apollo, or similar
Prior experience working directly with founders or in early-stage teams
